IE 7 and RamCT Issues

A. Add WebCT and RamCT to trusted sites in IE 7
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click on the Tools button in the upper right corner of the window.
- Click Internet Options at the bottom of the menu.
- Click on the Security tab.
- Click on the Trusted Sites Icon
- Click on the Sites button
- Uncheck the box next to the Require server verification (https:).. item
- In the text box under "Add this website to the zone"; type:http://webct.colostate.edu
- Click on the Add button
- In the text box under Add this website to the zone type: https://webct.colostate.edu
- Click on the Add button.
- In the text box under Add this website to the zone type: https://ramct.colostate.edu
(This will prepare IE 7 to work with the new RamCT system). - Click on the Add button.
- Click Close.
- Click OK.
- Completely close Internet Explorer to allow this setting to take effect.
B. Clipboard Access Popup Window
If you are using Internet Explorer 7, you should configure your browser as follows to avoid possible problems when taking a quiz where right-clicking has been disabled:
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click on the Tools button in the upper right corner of the window.
- Click Internet Options at the bottom of the menu.
- Click on the Security tab.
- Click the Custom level... button.
- Scroll down through the settings to the second-to-last category of "Scripting" where the second option is to "Allow Programmatic clipboard access".
- Change this default setting of "Prompt" to either "Disable" or "Enable". (Either choice will allow you to take a quiz without encountering difficulties.)
- Click OK. Click OK again
- Completely close Internet Explorer to allow this setting to take effect.
- Completely close Internet Explorer to allow this setting to take effect.
C. Downloading WebCT files with IE 7
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click on the Tools button in the upper right corner of the window.
- Click Internet Options at the bottom of the menu.
- Click on the Security tab.
- Click on the Trusted Sites Icon
- Click the Custom level button.
- Scroll down through the settings to the Downloads section.
- For the item Automatic prompting for file downloads, check the enable item.
- Click OK. Click OK again
- Completely close Internet Explorer to allow this setting to take effect.
