RamCT Users - Important Note on Assessments - 11/9/08
Patch Removed
The system patch applied on Saturday, 11/8/08, had an inadvertent affect on assessments. The patch was removed Sunday evening, 11/9/08, 6:34-7:20pm. Assessments are now working as before. We recognize the problems that failed assessments caused for both students and instructors, and deeply apologize for this unexpected disruption.
Assessments Did Not Save Sat. Morning thru Sun. Evening
Assessments attempted during this time (Saturday, 11/8/08, 9:30am through Sunday, 11/9/08, 7:20pm) did not save the answers.
Next Steps
Instructors, if there was a closing time or time limit on your exam, you may extend them to allow students to continue their attempts, if you so choose.
Students, if you started an assessment during this time, you should be able to go back and complete the assessment now, depending on the settings of the assessment. Please contact your instructor if you have questions about that assessment.
What Assessments Displayed
During this time, the assessment displayed the questions per the settings.
- For “Deliver all questions at once” assessments, the student could see all the questions, but received an error message in the right frame when selecting the “Save answer” button.
- For “Display one question at a time” assessments, the student could see the first question, and could not advance to the next question.
Time Display
For students who began an assessment during the timeframe on Nov 8-9, the assessment clock began counting their “Time Spent”, and totals the time upon submission, including the weekend time. Please discount the time for this problem.
Assessments are now performing as they were.
