RamCT and CSU Department Schedulers
CSU is moving from WebCT to RamCT (our online learning system) for Fall 2007. A key change is that ARIES data (course and section info, instructor assignments, and student enrollments) will be used to create and add enrollments to RamCT sections each semester. To prepare now for Fall 2007 department schedulers should:
- Complete the entry of instructor assignments so faculty members can request their Fall 2007 RamCT Semester Teaching Sections.
- See a diagram of how your work in editing courses/sections and entering instructional assignments into ARIES play a key role in the RamCT semester cycle.
- Attend a “RamCT for Dept Schedulers” information session if you haven’t yet. Dates and times are listed below. View the handout.
ARIES/SCAIT and the New Process for Faculty to Request RamCT Sections
YOU, Department Schedulers, are a key step in the NEW RamCT request process for faculty. The instructor assignments you enter into ARIES via SCAIT enable faculty to make their requests for RamCT sections.
Last January many Dept Schedulers helped determine that faculty should be able to make their own RamCT requests rather than have Dept Schedulers provide this service. So we created an online request form in ARIESweb for the faculty and removed the RamCT checkbox from the SCAIT screen.
NOTICE: In our new process, after a department scheduler enters instructor assignments into ARIES via SCAIT, the Primary Instructor can request a RamCT section using a special form in ARIESweb. The form is now open to faculty, so they may come to you if they have questions about their assignments.

Q. Are my instructional assignments entered into ARIES?
A. Why, of course! Or No, but as soon as the final decisions are given to me I will enter them.
Q. How can I see which sections have been assigned to me?
A. Login to RamPoint (www.rampoint.colostate.edu ), click on the ARIESweb tab, select “Class Schedule”, and query by Instructor. (The faculty member would have had to apply for ARIESweb access to be able to use the system.)
Q. Where do I request my RamCT sections?
A. Login to RamPoint (www.rampoint.colostate.edu ), click on the ARIESweb tab, under “Faculty Tools” select “Request RamCT Course-Section Shells”
Q. Why don’t I see all my sections when I am on the RamCT Request page?
A. Only the sections for which you are a PRIMARY Instructor are displayed there.
Q. Will ALL the instructors assigned to a section in ARIES have access to the RamCT section as Designer/Instructor?
A. Yes.
