  3. Add TAs and Designers
  4. Utilize RamCT Resources
  5. Add/Update Content

    1. Decide which tools in RamCT you will use to assist your students’ learning. For example, a basic RamCT section might include your syllabus, a course calendar, and a way for students to check their grades.  A more advanced use of RamCT might include using the assessments tool, ways for student study groups to collaborate, course discussions, and reading material organized in learning modules.  View a list of RamCT features that you can use in your course-section.

    2. Make sure that the file formats you choose to use are accessible to all of your students.  It is recommended that you save files in the RTF, PDF, or HTML formats so that everyone will be able to open them. If you post an assignment in Microsoft Word format, only students who have a copy of Microsoft Word will be able to read it. Note: Ssave all Office 2007 documents down to Office 2003 file format prior to posting in RamCT

    3. Check the sizes of your files.  Microsoft PowerPoint files can become quite large if they contain several digital photos that have not been compressed.  This becomes a hardship for students using dial-up internet connections.  A good rule of thumb is to keep your file sizes under 5 MB, if possible.

    4. Remember to add your expectations on how your students should use RamCT to your syllabus.  Your syllabus should mention that you have high standards for online conduct.  Student discussion posts should be appropriate and respectful of diversity.  It is also helpful to let your students know where they can obtain support.

  6. Support information
