RamCT Web Browser Tuning

RamCT requires that your web browser be configured or “tuned” to work properly.  Follow the steps below to insure that your web browser is ready to work with RamCT.

Common Programs that use Popup Blockers that you may have to disable:

  • Internet Explorer
  • Google toolbar
  • Yahoo tool bar
  • Symantec Internet Security Suite

Common Concerns with Non Supported versions of Java

  • Cannot access chat or discussion tools
  • Browser freezes when trying to upload assignments or course content.
  • Windows in the Manage Files tool are very small

Multiple Versions of Java

Multiple versions of Java on a computer can cause problems when using RamCT.  This may impact a user’s ability to log in to and use RamCT.

One indication that multiple versions of Java may be installed on a computer is:


When a user attempts to upload or download a file from RamCT they may see a red “X” instead of “My Computer” – this often indicates that there are multiple versions of Java installed on a computer.

 

Firewalls

You may have to add entries in to a local firewall to allow access to RamCT.
