SAFEASSIGN – TOOL FOR TEACHING & MATCHING CONTENT
SafeAssign is a software program designed as a tool to help instructor and students identify matching content between submitted papers and existing works, and to help students learn to properly cite sources.
While it can be used as a tool to identify possible plagiarism, its strength is as a teaching/learning tool for proper attribution of source material. The matching content indentified in the SafeAssign reports should not be the sole measure of potential plagiarism but rather as items to review to ensure sources are cited properly.
