RamCT Section Life and Backups
SECTION LIFE
RamCT uses a “single use” model for sections. That is, new sections are created each semester and used only for that one semester.
After the conclusion of a semester, the sections (including content and student data) remain on the system for several semesters and entirely new sections are created (by request) for the upcoming semester. Eventually sections are deleted off the system, either by instructor request or by reaching the planned system limit.
BACKUPS
There are two types of backups: database backups and individual section backups. Database backups are made regularly by Central administration for disaster recovery restoration of the entire system. Section backups can be made by Instructors for restoring a single RamCT section.
