Why Move to RamCT
The newest version of WebCT, RamCT, includes many improvements and will allow CSU to remain competitive with its online course offerings. Both the hardware and software used with this new version are more reliable and robust and will allow CSU to meet the growing use of online course management.

WebCT Upgrade to New Version
The project to upgrade CSU’s version of WebCT to the new version, RamCT, for Fall 2007 is in full swing. The campus has adopted the name “RAM Course Technology” or RamCT, which is in keeping with the names CSU has chosen for RamWeb and RamPoint systems.
WebCT Merges with Blackboard
WebCT was purchased by Blackboard (Bb) in 2006. Even though you may see the BlackBoard logo when using the system, RamCT is the upgraded version of WebCT.
RamCT and ARIES
RamCT will integrate with the new student information system, ARIES. Academic course/section and student data will come from ARIES. Sometime in the future this will also facilitate the posting of grades from RamCT to ARIES.
WebCT/RamCT Coordinators – a Major Role
Each college, in addition to Continuing Education, Cooperative Extension, and the Library, has a WebCT/RamCT coordinator who is the first point of contact for managing their faculty’s RamCT questions. Their role in preparing and implementing the new system will be one of the keys to the success of this project.
